The Story: Loop de Loop's Light Anthology Vineyard, a 9-acre organically and regeneratively farmed site planted in 2001, is now farmed by winemaker Julia Bailey-Gulstine, along with her husband Scott. Situated above 1250 feet in elevation, the vineyard's east-facing 20-30 degree slope provides an ideal exposure for capturing, in this case, the energy of cool-climate loving Riesling, but they also grow Pinot, Chard, and Gruner. Julia is an absolute gem, and her wines are evocative of the very special place that is the Columbia Gorge AVA.
Personality: his wine comes with a jolt of vitality, and may present differently given the moon cycle. Very dry, but opulent it unfurls with whispers of the local pear orchards & the forest floor walked through on the way to the vineyard. Reminiscent of the wise barn owls and wily coyotes who spend their nights among these vines, the pleasure factor is eruptive.
Harmony: This is a complex wine and deserves some time and attention for maximum enjoyment. A decadent meal of rich Indian flavors, curries, and spices would pair fabulously.
