Story: The story of Brookdale Estate began when Tim Rudd saw an overgrown patch of Paarl land and had a wild idea: turn it into a world-class country estate and a chill, beautiful place to be. After clearing 67 hectares of alien plants, the estate was reborn with indigenous gardens and a whole new vibe, setting the stage to "expect the unexpected." Who better to bring that unexpected spirit to life than winemaker Kiara Scott Farmer. This total rockstar from the Cape Flats became South Africa's youngest head female winemaker at just 26! Guided by her mantra, "Where there is good soil, there is good wine," Kiara's passion and skill turn the estate's restored balance into pure magic in every bottle she creates.
Personality: This wine is the cool, confident trailblazer who's always up for an unexpected adventure. It's an elegant secret keeper, with a savory spice that slowly gives way to an enchanting hint of floral aromas. On the palate, a silky texture carries notes of ripe red fruit, mulberries, and a touch of savory olive tapenade. The wine’s vibrant acidity is reminiscent of gentle blood orange, leading to a dry finish kissed by fresh black pepper and smooth tannins.
Harmony: This is your go-to Syrah for a savory Sunday roast or anything off the grill. For a more adventurous pairing, try it with a lamb tagine or a rich dish featuring olives and spices!
