Cote of Paint 'Happy Valley Rosé'

$24.00

Happy Valley AVA > Santa Ynez Valley > California

Grenache, 2024

Cote of Paint is a Black woman-owned indie wine brand by Kristin Harris - built around community, play, and bringing wine back to what it's always been: a social experience. Drawing inspiration from game nights, high-brow/low-brow dinner tables, and indie creatives, the mission is simple: have fun, drink great wine, and level up your wine game. This Rosé of Grenache is bright, refreshing, the wine equivalent of blowing into a cartridge and hoping it works (it does). She spent 6 months in neutral French oak before bottling for added texture and character. Absolutely delish!

The Story: A few years ago, when it was abundantly clear that their original medical school plans had derailed due to gleeful entanglement in Santa Barbara’s wine industry, Kristin Harris and Nick Luis started pondering what meaningful role they could play in the business. So, they dropped out of med school and started making wine in 2018. Today, Cote of Paint remains a very small producer, crafting about 150 cases annually. That includes, depending on the vintage, pinot noir from Duvarita Vineyard, grenache from Christy & Wise, grüner veltliner and sangiovese from Cocquelicot, sauvignon blanc from Happy Canyon, and a rosé of grenache. Kristin is only the second black woman winemaker operating in Santa Barbara County, but recently located to the PNW, running back and forth to the winery in California. We’re thrilled to be among the first to feature her banging wines in Seattle.

Personality: Survey says: all aspects of the strawberry - fresh, wild, maybe even that little green top you forgot to pick off - brightened with blood orange zest and the crisp, refreshing snap of watermelon rind.

Harmony: An incredible sushi pairing , or just blissfully porch pound this baby.
