Decision Hill 'Nonsense Rosé'

$28.00
Only 3 available

Chehalem Mountains > Willamette Valley > Oregon

Pinot Noir, 2023

We’re so excited to be the first to bring Decision Hill wines to Seattle. Our former wine production instructor, Bill Snyder along with his wife Anne launched this fun project with their first vintage last year in Oregon. This Rosé buzzes with vitality after a Sound Bath meditation in the cellar reignited fermentation after a sleepy winter. Unfiltered and cloudy, a tad funky on the nose a first, but bursting with delicious juicy melon and a creamy finish. This vibration-infused juice is a must try! Organically farmed.

The Story: The 2023 Nonsense is an adventure in slow winemaking. Produced in a humble winery near the peak of the Chehalem mountains, this rosé took deliberate, intuitive steps towards finishing. After a warm growing season, temperatures at high elevations in the Willamette Valley dropped quickly after harvest. We leaned into this, leaving the rosé outside for a cold November and December, allowing it to naturally settle and clarify. After reaching low temperatures this sleepy juice just wanted to stay in bed. In late March we held a sound bath in the winery to experiment with vibrations and energize this wine. Surrounded by family and friends (including Vinos Pingüinos!) we were able to perk it up and get it on its path towards the bottle.

Decision Hill Wines sources grapes from sites where climate, soil, and grape-growing energies are in harmony. We focus on distinct white & rosé wine from the Willamette Valley, Columbia Gorge, and Eastern Washington. With careful consideration toward the community and environment, we fuse perspectives on design, thoughtful viticulture, and delicate winemaking. We utilize a technical approach while paying mind to subtle & esoteric energies, and intuition. Decision Hill is Bill and Ann Snyder. Bill has worked at wineries up and down the West Coast as a winemaker, enologist, vineyard consultant, and educator. Ann has enjoyed drinking wine throughout her career in textile and color design.

Personality: We’re not going to lie, this is a little cheesy on the nose, but in a good way. It blows off with some swish. A tad cloudy as this wine is unfiltered, you definitely get a dose of vitality within this vibe infused cuvée. There’s a lot of melon action in this wine, juicy cantaloupe, muskmelon, and watermelon abounding.

Harmony: Sushi would be killer. Have at it!
