Lo-Fi Carbonic Cabernet Franc

$26.00

Santa Barbara County > CA

Cabernet Franc, 2024

We’ve been a huge fan of Lo-Fi Wines ever since we visited their tasting room in Los Alamos a few years back. As a nod to their vinyl themed brand, you can pick out an LP on deck for the tasting soundtrack. These wines are available in Seattle for the first time. Here we have our favorite red varietal this time from Coquelicot Vineyard in Santa Barbara County, done whole cluster carbonic for 12 days, resulting in a fresh and fruity style with a delicious splash of that classic Cab Franc jalapeño bite. The boys stay stay true to their minimalist (lo-fi) philosophy, and add only a total of 30ppm SO2 after aging 6 months in concrete and different size neutral oak barrels to add an incredible textural landscape on the palate. Drink chilled.

The Story: Lo-Fi is a partnership between two lifelong friends - Mike & Craig - who believe in hand crafted honest wines that are made for every day drinking. Wines to be enjoyed not to be collected, easy drinking lower alcohol wines made to pair well with all types of foods, from pizza to paté. They believe in neutral barrels, native yeasts, little to no sulfur additions, and no adjustment of pH. They love whole cluster fermentation and adore carbonic maceration. They embrace a nothing added, nothing taken away philosophy that gives birth to wines that are young, vibrant and alive. Less is more - drink up!

Personality: Talk about a juice-bomb! Refreshing, with a pop of raspberry bubblegum on the midpalate, the wine finishes with that signature cab franc spice.

Harmony: Versatile as a pairing wine, it’ll complement the likes of pizza on the patio, as well as roasted chicken with herbed potatoes.
