Blend: 50% Torrontes, 25% Sauvignon Blanc, 25% Chardonnay
ABV: 12.5%
The Story: Pielihueso is Spanish for “skin and bones”, this estate began in 2017 when father/daughter combo Celina and Alejandro Bartolome planted vines in Los Chacayes and Los Sauces (both subregions of the Uco Valley located within Tunuyan). The wines are all farmed organically and made with no corrections, fermented with native yeast and a low addition of sulfur is added just before bottling. Alejandro comes from a long background in organic farming and this is the family’s first foray into wine.
Personality: A complex array of floral notes from Torrontes merge with the crisp, herbaceous aromas of Sauvignon Blanc and the subtle fruitiness of Chardonnay, creating a layered and inviting bouquet. The vibrant acidity and citrus flavors of Sauvignon Blanc blend with the long finish, with a mineral complexity that reflects the wine's natural and organic roots.
Harmony: A versatile pairing partner for sure. It shines alongside seafood, such as grilled salmon or ceviche, and is equally delightful with light poultry dishes or a fresh goat cheese salad.
