Story: Justin hails from Washington DC, which is split into different wards, and her mother's maiden name is Ward. Endlessly fascinated by discovery, every wine in the Ward Four collection is inspired by a loved one. Ward Four Wines is built on Justin’s core four, but but also honors her godmom, uncles, aunties, and friends. She says her aim is to bring an entirely new level of personal vulnerability to the world of wine - shifting the dial and shining a light loudly and proudly on the beautiful people who inspire her.

After completing a degree in Wine Business at Cal Poly SLO in 2016, Justin moved abroad to Adelaide, Australia where she discovered her passion for winemaking. Shortly after moving back to the US she got down and dirty at her first harvest internship in Santa Barbara CA. Since then she has completed 14 vintages with some of the best producers in the world, gaining a special fondness and appreciation for low intervention, intentional winemaking that honors the sense of place. When she is not in the cellar you can find Justin in the kitchen, watching scary films, thinking up her next fantasy world, or chatting over a glass of wine, pet rat on shoulder.

Personality: Full bodied with endless acidity and approachable tannins make this wine a cellar worthy delight. Decadent, with aromatics of violet, sage and dark chocolate covered blueberries, reminiscent of boysenberry, roasted hazelnut, plum jam and black cherries.

Harmony: Braised short ribs, wild mushroom risotto, a sumptuous bubble bath.
