The Story: Everything started with Leonardo Specogna and his wife Alma in 1963 when, after residing in Switzerland as emigrants for some years, they returned to Friuli Venezia Giulia and bought a small plot of land on the hills of Rocca Bernarda in Corno di Rosazzo. That day the adventure in the world of wine begun. It continued with Graziano, who started improving the management techniques of the vineyards and of the winemaking, gradually expanding the vineyard surface. The third generation of Specogna winemakers Cristian (his wife Violetta) and Michele, their son has now entered the company with great passion and desire to improve. The project sits alongside other specialized family ventures, including Toblar, a side project by Michele Specogna dedicated to the recovery of rare, indigenous varietals.
Personality: This fizzy wine is bone DRY with notes of crunchy white pears over clotted cream, juicy grapefruit on the palette, and mixed melon balls floating in a crisp, mineral pool of bubbly goodness.
Harmony: Perhaps the perfect brunch wine? Invite some gossip girls over and find out.
